Dr. Jaronique Devezin was born in June of 1974, in Detroit, Michigan.  She was raised in a blended family by her father and bonus mother.  Her biological mother played an intricate part in her rearing growing up as well.  Dr. Devezin’s entire upbringing has made her the woman she is today.  After graduating salutatorian from Detroit Northern High School in 1992, she attended Tennessee State University.  As an Elementary Education major, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree.  Upon graduation, God granted Dr. Devezin to become the mother to a “Miracle Child”.  In 1998, she landed a job as an elementary teacher.  Eventually, Dr. Devezin became the youngest Assistant Principal for George Washington Carver Academy in Highland Park, Michigan.  As an administrator and mother, Dr. Devezin took on the challenge of furthering her education at Wayne State University, where she received her Masters Degree in Educational Leadership.  As an advocate to be a continuous learner, Dr. Devezin earned her Post Master and Doctor Degrees at Oakland University.  It has been an honor to be of service to public schools for 23 years in Michigan; Detroit, Highland Park, Muskegon and Muskegon Heights.  The City of Pontiac School District has allowed Dr. Devezin to be of service to students and their families for 8 years.  Dr. Devezin had the privilege of being the principal of Whitman Elementary, Herrington Elementary and currently Kennedy School.  Ultimately, Dr. Devezin’s goal is to ensure all students are provided a high quality education and that we hear every student’s “voice”.

Personally, Dr. Devezin feels she is living in her gifts and talents by leading students, parents and staff in a direction that will allow students to receive the academic and vocational skills they need to become productive, contributing and independent citizens.  She is with The City of Pontiac School district to support everyone in their personal and professional endeavors.  Dr. Devezin is happily married to Pastor Terrence Devezin.  She has two children and two grandchildren.  As Dr. Devezin continues to serve the community, she is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®.
